American Donors

Connect Church is also a registered 501(c)(3) able to issue tax receipts in the USA.

*Please note that any designated offerings may be reassigned as general funds at the discretion of our Financial Directors and in accordance with our bylaws.*

How can I reduce fees and maximize my donation?

Giving by e-transfer means there are no processing fees and 100% of your donation is received by the church.

What's the benefit to me of donating stocks?

Donating stock after it has appreciated in value for a year allows you to deduct the full market value from your taxes and protects your realized gains from being subjected to long-term capital gains tax.

What's the difference between a "tithe" and an "offering"?

A “tithe” literally means “a tenth” or 10%. The practice of tithing is a biblical principle (Mal 3:10; Pro 3:9-10; Lev 27:30) in which we return our “first fruits” to God. Tithing is both an acknowledgement that all things come from and ultimately belong to God, and, confirmation of his lordship in every area of our lives – including our finances. Consistently tithing helps the local church expand the Kingdom of God and serves as an antidote to our tendency toward greed and materialism. As Jesus said, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

An “offering” is anything that we give over and above the tithe.

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” --Romans 12:6-8
